ErrorXRechnung business rule (KoSIT)

Official message

[BR-DE-11] Das Element "Deliver to post code" (BT-78) muss übermittelt werden, wenn die Gruppe "DELIVER TO ADDRESS" (BG-15) übermittelt wird.

Source: KoSIT XRechnung, version 3.0.2 (Schematron 2.6.0)

What the message means

The invoice contains a delivery address in which the post code is missing. XRechnung either leaves the delivery address out or requires it in full; there is nothing in between, because the recipient would not know whether the detail can be relied on. The error often appears together with a missing city when the address comes from an order that only knew the street. Add the post code or leave the group out.

Common causes

  • The delivery address comes from an order without a post code.
  • Post code and city share one field in the delivery location.
  • The software fills the delivery group from a free text that is only partly split.

How to fix it

Enter the post code in the delivery address: in UBL cbc:PostalZone under cac:Delivery/cac:DeliveryLocation/cac:Address, in CII ram:PostcodeCode in the PostalTradeAddress of the ShipToTradeParty. Check the city and the country code of the address in the same step.

Before – invalid
<cac:DeliveryLocation>
  <cac:Address>
    <cbc:StreetName>Werkstraße 5</cbc:StreetName>
    <cbc:CityName>Stuttgart</cbc:CityName>
    <cac:Country><cbc:IdentificationCode>DE</cbc:IdentificationCode></cac:Country>
  </cac:Address>
</cac:DeliveryLocation>
After – corrected
<cac:DeliveryLocation>
  <cac:Address>
    <cbc:StreetName>Werkstraße 5</cbc:StreetName>
    <cbc:CityName>Stuttgart</cbc:CityName>
    <cbc:PostalZone>70173</cbc:PostalZone>
    <cac:Country><cbc:IdentificationCode>DE</cbc:IdentificationCode></cac:Country>
  </cac:Address>
</cac:DeliveryLocation>

Frequently asked

Why is an optional detail checked so strictly?

Because an address is only usable as a whole. XRechnung allows leaving it out, but not an incomplete address.

Does BR-DE-11 also apply to deliveries abroad?

Yes. A foreign delivery address also needs a post code or the usual equivalent there, as soon as the group is given.

Fields concerned

  • BT-78
  • BG-15
