BR-DEX – XRechnung extension

BR-DEX-15: sub invoice lines in CII, which XRechnung does not support

WarningXRechnung business rule (KoSIT)

Official message

[BR-DEX-15] This CII file might use the concept of Sub Invoice Lines. However XRechnung does not support this.

Source: KoSIT XRechnung, version 3.0.2 (Schematron 2.6.0)

How to fix it

Remove ram:ParentLineID from the lines and state every line flat, or switch to the UBL version of the XRechnung extension with cac:SubInvoiceLine for hierarchical lines. Components can be named in the line text.

Before – invalid
<ram:IncludedSupplyChainTradeLineItem>
  <ram:AssociatedDocumentLineDocument>
    <ram:LineID>1.1</ram:LineID>
    <ram:ParentLineID>1</ram:ParentLineID>
  </ram:AssociatedDocumentLineDocument>
</ram:IncludedSupplyChainTradeLineItem>
After – corrected
<ram:IncludedSupplyChainTradeLineItem>
  <ram:AssociatedDocumentLineDocument>
    <ram:LineID>2</ram:LineID>
  </ram:AssociatedDocumentLineDocument>
</ram:IncludedSupplyChainTradeLineItem>

What the message means

Your CII invoice uses the element for parent lines, with which UN/CEFACT nests lines hierarchically. XRechnung supports sub invoice lines only in the UBL version of the extension; CII has no validated structure for it, which is why the rule reports the element. The recipient would ignore the references or misread them, and the sum check of the lines would run empty. The invoice stays valid, but the hierarchy is lost.

Common causes

  • The invoice was exported from an ERP with parts lists that nests lines.
  • A ZUGFeRD template with sub lines was reused for XRechnung.
  • The field ParentLineID is filled with the value of the line itself.

Frequently asked

Can I just leave ParentLineID in place?

Better not. The recipient does not process the nesting; amounts and references between the lines are lost, and queries are likely.

Why does XRechnung support sub lines in UBL only?

The extension defines the group SUB INVOICE LINE with UBL elements; no corresponding mapping was fixed for CII, so lines stay flat there.
