BR-DEX-05: legal registration scheme not from the ISO 6523 list

ErrorXRechnung business rule (KoSIT)

Official message

[BR-DEX-05] Any scheme identifier in MUST be coded using one of the ISO 6523 ICD list.

Source: KoSIT XRechnung, version 3.0.2 (Schematron 2.6.0)

What the message means

The legal registration number of a party of your invoice, such as the seller's commercial register number, carries a scheme that is not in the ISO 6523 list. The scheme is meant to say which register keeps the number; the extension requires the numeric ISO code for it. A text such as HRB or commercial register in the scheme field is rejected. The number itself may contain the register abbreviation, the attribute only the code.

Common causes

  • The register abbreviation HRB was entered as the scheme instead of into the number.
  • A national code was invented because the ISO code was unknown.
  • The software sets one fixed, invalid scheme for all registration numbers.

How to fix it

Enter in cbc:CompanyID the full registration number, for example HRB 12345 with the register court, and set in the schemeID attribute a code of the ISO 6523 list or leave the attribute out. In CII the same applies to ram:ID of the SpecifiedLegalOrganization.

Before – invalid
<cac:PartyLegalEntity>
  <cbc:RegistrationName>Beispiel GmbH</cbc:RegistrationName>
  <cbc:CompanyID schemeID="HRB">12345</cbc:CompanyID>
</cac:PartyLegalEntity>
After – corrected
<cac:PartyLegalEntity>
  <cbc:RegistrationName>Beispiel GmbH</cbc:RegistrationName>
  <cbc:CompanyID>HRB 12345, Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg</cbc:CompanyID>
</cac:PartyLegalEntity>

Frequently asked

Is there an ISO 6523 code for the German commercial register?

The list holds codes for individual registers and identifier systems; many national registers have none. Then the attribute stays out and the number names the register in its text.

Is the registration number mandatory at all?

No, BT-30 is optional. If it is given, a scheme that is set must come from the list.
